The {K} Family│Sacramento Family Photographer

Special people, the kind of people who just radiate warmth, love and friendship, are not always easy to find.  We were blessed many years ago, shortly before becoming pregnant with our oldest, to meet a couple who is all of these traits and more!  Unfortunately we don't see them nearly enough, but I was so thankful to have the opportunity to photograph them and their two fun-loving boys a few weeks ago and would love to share a few of their images with you!

I love watching my husband sitting in our living room practicing his guitar.  The thoughtful concentration on his face, the sweet melody filling our home and the dancing children at our feet all combine to make it a memorable moment, but the joy in his adept fingers as they manipulate the strings was my focus for this image.

If I had my child to raise over again

I'd build self-esteem first and the house later
I'd finger paint more and point the finger less
I would do less correcting and more connecting
I'd take my eyes off my watch and watch with my eyes
I would care to know less and know to care more
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites
I'd stop playing serious and seriously play
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars
I'd do more hugging and less tugging
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often
I would be firm less often and affirm much more
I'd model less about the love of power
And more about the power of love.

What a great reminder of the gift my children are to me - and an encouragement of where my priorities should be!  Enjoying the day with my family - I hope you are able to be doing the same!

Another example of a great way to coordinate outfits and clothing choices for the whole family!  Oh how I'd LOVE that sweater for mom, and the dress for the little girl, and the argyle is completely my style...

Christmas Card Designs are Here!

The holidays are fast approaching and the deadline for sending out those Christmas cards will be here before you know it!  I love designing cards and am happy to be offering my clients a variety of choices this Christmas season.  I've designed each card with a unique style that can be customized to your taste and preferences, including font changes, some color changes and some multi-photo options. 

Many people enjoy the luxury of press printed cards that typically come in sizes 5x7 and 5x5 and tend to be on the higher end of the Christmas card budget ($1 - 1.60/card).  Others prefer the more budget-friendly photo printed cards that can be found usually in 4x8 size and then I know a number of people who use the extremely value-priced Costco photo cards in size 6x7.5.  

I am offering designs for all of these options and today want to share with you just a few of my designs for the Costco cards.
