33/52 - Project 52 {Picnic Fun}│ Sacramento Family Photographer

Our church has an annual picnic and baptism at the river and it is a highlight each year for our family to go.  This week's Project 52 showcases a few of my favorite images from that day:

Occasionally in life things get put off, you have the best of intentions but the busy-ness of life creeps in and before you know it you realize that "important thing" you wanted to do still has not been done.  In this case, it has been FOUR years since this family of four has had a family photo done and we've been talking about taking the photos for almost a year! 

Thankfully the procrastination is over and we enjoyed a fun evening snapping away and capturing the fun that makes up the V Family.  These are special friends of our family and I'm so thankful to have spent this time with them and hope they enjoy their sneak peak!

Samson (Part 3)

You met Samson, you met his family, did you think I forgot my own kids?  Despite them not always being the most cooperative when it comes to taking photos, here are a few of my little ones that I love and that shows their personalities...

Samson (Part 2)

You met Samson, now here is his cute older brother David and beautiful mom Lisa.

Samson

I have a sweet friend Lisa who is also a fellow photographer.  She and I took the kids out last week to scout out a potential location and it was fun to have a chance to photograph her adorable boys.  I'm so used to chasing my little ones around and begging for smiles that it was such a breath of fresh air to have some older boys that actually took direction and *gasp* looked and smiled at the camera!

She and her youngest came by our place awhile ago and for some reason my son kept calling him Samson.  I have no idea why, it doesn't even sound like his real name (Jack), but he was insistent and would run around the house saying, "Samson!  Samson!"  Jack eventually realized that he was "Samson" and I think was a bit confused but flattered (as flattered as a 6 year old can be at least).  Well I would like you to meet a modern-day Samson - handsome and sweet ...

I can't decide if I like the color or black & white edit best - what do you think?

32/52 - Project 52 {Surprise!}

This past weekend the kids and I joined lots of our family on our "family campout," but sadly Daddy couldn't join us because he had to get his classroom and everything ready for school to start Tuesday (he JUST found out he had a job & classroom on Wednesday).

It was the first time camping for the kids and McGee's first time fishing as well.  While I knew it was important and necessary for Daddy to be home and working, it was still a bit sad that he couldn't be here for this important "first".  The fishing "first" was especially important I thought because Daddy used to love to fish and that was a big part of our courtship (he proposed on a "supposed" fishing trip)!

How surprised were we when Daddy showed up just as we began fishing?!  Here is McGee as he turned to see who was there...

SURPRISE!

Daddy was only able to stay for a few hours before taking the 2 hour drive back home, but what a memory this was for us all!

31/52 - Project 52 {Bible Study Treats}
